Description
Palm Sugar is a sweetener made from the flower buds of any palm trees, most commonly from the coconut palm tree. The sap from these flower buds are naturally processed and dried and no chemicals are added during the processing. Because of this reason, Palm Sugar is usually called natural sugar. Palm sugar contains minerals like zinc, iron, copper, potassium and phosphorous and also has a high content of Vitamin B. Its found that Pam Sugar also contains small amounts of phytonutrients such as polyphenols, flavonoids and anthocyanidin; and antioxidants. Pam Sugar is said to contain the same 16 amino acids that are present in the sap from which it is made. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are needed for cell growth and repair.
