Green cardamom or elaichi -also known as true cardamom – is the most common variety of Cardamom you will see in shops. Its a spice used in both sweet and savory dishes. These pods can be used as either whole pods or in a powdered form. They have a strong, sweet, pungent flavor and aroma, with hints of lemon and mint.
Cardamom seeds or pods are sometimes chewed to refresh the breath and as a digestive aid. Cardamom is also used in various traditional medicine.
