Description
Biriyani is a mixed rice dish originating among the Muslims of South Asia. It is made with Indian spices, vegetables, rice, and usually some type of meat, or in some cases without any meat, and sometimes, in addition, eggs and potatoes.
The word “biryani” comes from the Persian word “biryan”, which means “fried” or “toasted”. The dish is thought to have originated in Persia and was brought to India by Muslim traders.
There are many different varieties of biryani, each with its own unique flavor.
