Puttu is a breakfast dish eaten in the South Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka, as well as Sri Lanka. Puttu means “portioned” in Malayalam. It is made of steamed cylinders of ground rice or wheat layered with coconut shavings, sometimes with a sweet or savory filling on the inside.

Established in 2010, Ponkathir is a brand from the state of Kerala in Southern India. Here we blend the traditional methods with 18 types of 5 high grade rice compositions to bring out the best product. Purity and quality is tested and confirmed at every stage of production .Superior raw materials are procured from high quality vendors. The rice is disinfected before grinding it and is fried in ‘traditional ovens’ or ‘Smokeless Chulahs’ using firewood. This traditional process of slow cooking preserves the nutrients in the rice particles. Further processing is done in ISO and HACCP certified manufacturing plants to ensure and maintain purity and quality.
