ANTIOXEE is aimed at aiding the metabolic conversion of Ellagitannins in the fruit extract to Ellagic Acid (EA) which is easily metabolized by the GI microbes to Urolithin, the form of antioxidant that our body can absorb. The pomegranate skin and seed extract is rich in Ellagitanins along with other phenolic acids, anthocyanins, hydrolyzable tanins and tocophenols. This acts as a prebiotic for our proprietary blend of Lactobacillus bacteria.

We all know antioxidants are important for our health. We eat antioxidant-rich fruits, nuts and vegetables. Numerous research has shown that antioxidants from our food have several beneficial effects:

They improve the function of our mitochondria, powerhouse of our body. Thus we get energy boost. Antioxidants (Urolithin B) have been shown to improve muscle function.

These antioxidants have been shown to upregulate Nrf2 gene, a master regulator of detoxification pathway. 1

Ellagic acid from antioxidant-rich food along with other chemical compounds present in them have been shown to have pronounced anti-inflammatory effect.2

Numerous research have shown a direct correlation between antioxidants and anti-cancer activity.3,4

Peer reviewed research has also shown key mechanism by which pomegranate fractions affect the type 2 diabetic condition by reducing oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. 5

But, many of us do not realize that the antioxidants present in fruits like pomegranate, cranberries and strawberries are not fully available to our body. These fruits are rich in Ellagitanins, which are poorly absorbed by our body.6

This Ellagtanin is converted to Ellagic acid by bacteria in our gut. The Ellagic acid is then easily converted to Urolithin by gut bacteria. This Urolithin is what is absorbed by our body as the beneficial and functional form of anti-oxidant.

Further, pomegranate extracts have other health benefits along with being a source of Ellagic Acid.7
